There’s nothing to do tonight, unless you’re a big football fan, or if you really love local music and want to have Pete Freedman picking “Clementine” as the number one local song spoiled for you.
(Note: If the game is on at the Libertine, you should def go and watch the game/listen to local jams.)
As you can see in the Frightened Rabbit soundtracked trailer above Mel Gibson is back from his voicemail vacation to give us a heartwarming comedy that features him talking through a Beaver puppet, no word yet on whether or not the Beaver is secretly stealing from him, or if Jody Foster will be forced to blow him.
We know not all of you are big fans of The Killers and, hell, even we feel a little embarrassed about our behavior towards the band circa 2003, but one thing you have to like is the band’s commitment to doing a holiday song for the (RED)campaign every year. And this year it seems the band has outdone themselves as they’ve come together post Human v. Dancer debate to give us a track that seems to harken back to the best parts of Sam’s Town (yes, I was one of the 46 people who liked Sam’s Town).
As a bonus, Starbucks has agreed to donate 5¢ every time the official video (directed by Jared Hess, so you know it’s Mormontastic) is viewed over at the Starbucks Shares site. So please go do that. It’s for a good cause.
if you sample the mp3s that are posted on this site, make an effort to support the artist by going out an purchasing their work. The internet is a great tool to find music, but screwing over the artist who put out that work is a way to guarantee that you won't have the chance to find new and wonderful things.
Songs are only kept on this blog for a few weeks, If you are an artist or representative of the artist, and you want the material removed please contact me and I will remove the work.
