Let’s see we had one movie that was supposedly cut to death, we also had one seven season show that’s almost universally loved, and all of this was done by the one man who has a last name people have turned into a trademark for everything he even thinks about, and now we’re gonna have his pet project taken over by a studio without his involvement? Really? This is a good idea?

Over on Jezebel there’s video posted of the University of Michigan’s marching band performing a GAGA medley, complete with the band forming GAGA during the performance, proving that while Big Blue can defeat Notre Dame they can never defeat their own bad taste.
We’re gonna be nice and keep the jokes to a minimum, but this may be the whitest thing on the internet, and you gotta love that one of the players mom’s decided to be apart of the video, honestly I think this is all Glee’s fault.

If you’re like me, you’re baffled and even angered by a lot of American pop music. Thinking about the likes of Lady Gaga (who can at least write songs and play the piano), Ke$ha, Taylor Swift and Disney spawn like Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers make me want to scream. People have argued that the “artists” have their worth. They’re talented and the songs are cleverly constructed, as far as pop music goes. OK, nobody I know has argued that about Ke$ha. There is absolutely no excuse for Ke$ha. But I digress …
Now, I do respect a well-written pop song. I’m a huge fan of pop from the 50s through the 80s, power pop, twee and the like. But most pop music out today annoys the shit out of me and makes me marvel at the general public for lapping it up. Not just children and teenagers who are still forming their tastes and are allowed a few embarrassing choices, but adults who should know better.
After witnessing the video that follows, however, I am changing my tune. American pop music has nothing on German pop music. I was aware that European culture could be bizarre and disorienting.
